Region
Bairrada.
Known for wines of enormous freshness and acidity, Bairrada has a climate shaped by the Atlantic and chalky-clay soils.
The Bairrada region lies between the towns of Águeda and Coimbra and is made up mainly of vineyards in the municipalities of Anadia, Cantanhede, Mealhada and Oliveira do Bairro.
Here, conditions are exceptional for growing Baga, the region’s most prominent variety. Small-berried, with tight bunches and known for late ripening, in this terroir it is remarkably suited to sparkling wines and to reds that stand the test of time.
